Where Are You in Your Lenten Walk?

From then on Jesus began to tell his disciples plainly that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem, and that he would suffer many terrible things at the hands of the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law. He would be killed, but on the third day he would be raised from the dead. Matthew 16:21

Jesus knew where He was headed…to Jerusalem…to the cross. He knew the suffering He would have to endure to death. But He did it anyway. He did it for you and for me. He paid the ultimate sacrifice.
There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends. John 15:13
Yet, we are more than just friends with Jesus.
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God's Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, "Abba, Father." For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God's children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God's glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. Romans 8:14-17
Family at the beach  - more than friends with Jesus.
Adopted. We are sisters and brothers of Christ Jesus Himself. Family. Are you part of God’s family? Believe…and become one of God’s own children—and walk the path to the cross with Jesus and His followers this Lenten season.

Prayer ~ Jesus—I rejoice and praise You—for just as You told the woman at the well..."I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying." John 11:25. I believe. Open the eyes and hearts of those who hear of You and are hesitant or just don’t believe. Although we are told we share in Your suffering…we claim the promise that we may share in Your glory, too. Glory be to God the Father…and His plan for mankind.
