Back to the Beginning

In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. John 1:1-5

The beginning…just like in Genesis. Jesus is the Word—spoken and living. He is God.

Light. Life.
Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, "I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life." John 8:12
This life is all about spiritual light…and spiritual darkness. We don’t want to be in the dark—groping our way around who knows what—spiritually. Jesus’ light can never be quenched.
This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:5-7
Jesus is a beacon of light for us—showing us the way to live in His spiritual kingdom.

Love God, love your neighbor as yourself….
Do unto others….
            Let your light shine….
That light that shines is Jesus’ love showing, shining and flowing through you. Each of us has the opportunity to make an intentional decision to do things Jesus’ way…to serve Him by serving others. It is up to us to choose. Our way or God’s way. What will it be for you?

Prayer ~ Jesus, You are the light of the world for me—even though You are not in the world…You are in my heart and guide my life—giving me inspiration and creativity. Holy Spirit please continue to give me peace, joy and hope as I live day by day waiting for Christ’s return.
