But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God. John 3:21 ESV
But
those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are
doing what God wants. John
3:21 NLT
Meditate
on the light.
Consider
the light. Who or what is it…where does it come from? Jesus was speaking with
Nicodemus. As a Pharisee, he probably considered himself to be in the light—pure,
righteous, and always right. Is he? Jesus is the light of the world, just as He
told His followers.
Jesus spoke to the people once more
and said, "I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't have
to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life." John
8:12 NLT
But while I am here in the world, I
am the light of the world. John
9:5 NLT
Darkness
indicates evil. Jesus is light, providing hope, security, direction, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, love, joy, and
peace. No need for fear. Are you walking in His light?
As a person lives a Christ-centered
life, they don’t have to boast, but just live with other people in mind who
will benefit from being honored in the love of God. To love God and love others is
an ideal command. If a person loves God, they are more likely to love others as themselves. Likewise, if someone loves others, they will love the creator…God.
Jesus taught that we are to love God and to love others as ourselves. Doing
things for others shows God’s love to them…as well as your own love. Is that
easy for you to do? What stands in your way of obeying God?
Prayer
– Lord God, show me when I miss the mark of meeting your ideals, whether in
thought, words, or actions. You are the most important in my life and I just want
to please You. I praise Your name.

of Salvation ~ But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by
the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our
