| Think about the good things. New life...in Christ will renew your mind. |
And so, dear brothers and sisters,
I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you.
Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This
is truly the way to worship him. Don't copy the behavior and customs of this
world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you
think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and
pleasing and perfect. Romans
12:1-2
Maybe you need to use the old-fashioned habit changer: a rubber band on your wrist and snap it each time you have an evil or derogatory thought. I find that just mentally reciting scripture helps me focus on God and the positive things in life. My favorite verse is the one today from Philippian 6:8.
Whatever it takes, allow God to
transform you into a new person, beginning with your thoughts. Can you do it?
Yes, with the help of Jesus our Lord and Savior. You can do all things through
Christ who give you strength (Philippians 4:13). Choose Him today as your Savior
and keep thinking about the good stuff. God is good.
Don't
worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need,
and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which
exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds
as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final
thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and
pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and
worthy of praise. Philippians
4:6-8 (Underlined for emphasis.)
Prayer
– Lord Jesus, renew my mind and give me strength to follow You.
Meditate.
Consider the good stuff.
Verse
of Salvation ~ So think clearly and exercise self-control. Look forward to the
gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the
world. 1 Peter
