Did you ever laugh when you anticipated
having a baby? I remember being thrilled—but not laughing, but I wasn’t an old woman
like Sarah. There are a few women in the Bible who had children when they were considered past childbearing years. Consider
Elizabeth, Mary’s cousin, who was the mother of John the Baptist. How about
Hannah, the mother of Samuel? She waited for years to be a mother. It is not
clear just how old she was, but it is certainly evident that the Lord heard and
answered her prayer, just as promised. Abraham and Sarah had a promise from the
Lord, too. It is presumed that one of the three men who came to speak
with Abraham was Jesus Himself. He promised that Sarah would have a son by that
time next year. He asked… Is anything too hard for the LORD?Laughing flower - Promise Fulfilled

The Lord used that phrase when He
had Jeremiah predict the fall of Jerusalem and the Babylonian exile.
"I am the LORD, the God of all
the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?" Jeremiah 32:27
In the
New Testament we see that even the angel who announced to Mary that she would
be the mother of Jesus said…
For nothing is impossible with God.
Luke 1:37
We can
count on God…on Jesus, that He is all powerful and nothing is impossible or too
hard for Him.
Trust in the LORD with all your
heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6
Nothing is
too hard for Him—even showing you where to go and what to do. Trust Him.
The
LORD appeared again to Abraham near the oak grove belonging to Mamre. One day
Abraham was sitting at the entrance to his tent during the hottest part of the
day. He looked up and noticed three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he
ran to meet them and welcomed them, bowing low to the ground. "My
lord," he said, "if it pleases you, stop here for a while. ... Then
one of them said, "I will return to you about this time next year, and
your wife, Sarah, will have a son!" Sarah was listening to this
conversation from the tent. ... Then the LORD said to Abraham, "Why did
Sarah laugh? Why did she say, 'Can an old woman like me have a baby?' Is
anything too hard for the LORD? I will return about this time next year, and
Sarah will have a son." Genesis 18:1-3, 10, 13-14
Prayer
– Lord Jesus, it is amazing to see You at work in the Old Testament…and I hang
onto Your promise that nothing is impossible, not too hard for You. I trust You
with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength, not leaning on my own
understanding—but knowing that You will fulfill your promises. Thank You.
Meditate.
Consider laughter./
