Saved!

Have you ever had someone throw you a lifeline? I’ve never been in a panic situation—although my son did save a little guy who walked out onto a pool cover and sunk right into the pool. Mike plopped down on the deck and stretched out his arms just barely reaching the two-year old to pull him out of the water. Saved!

Good News! Everyone will be saved…at least those who call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Saved! Can you throw a lifeline to those who are floundering in the sea of unbelief? Lacking knowledge of Jesus and belief in Him, they will face eternal death.  How can we reach those folks? Can we stretch out our arms and reach them…or throw them a lifeline of truth. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6)? Isaiah was called…and he responded:

Then I heard the Lord asking, "Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?" I said, "Here I am. Send me." Isaiah 6:8

Do you hear the Lord calling you? How would you respond? Do you have beautiful feet? Will you go? Lord, here I am. I'm willing to serve You...and tell others the Good News.

Tell of God's Glory among the nations.
Objective: to Save the Lost.

For "Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved." But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, "How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!"
Romans 10:13-15

Prayer – Lord, I believe in You as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for hearing me when I called on Your name—and for saving me from an eternity without You. An eternity of gnashing one’s teeth in the eternal heat of a fiery furnace. I know You want all Christians—all Your followers to go and tell others about You. Where do You want me to go? Help me to throw a lifeline of knowledge about You to those who don’t know You. May those who hear, believe.

Meditate. Believe. Tell.

Verse of Salvation ~ God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:8-10

Friday’s Feast at the King’s Table

Today would have been my Dad’s birthday…if he was still living. He loved sweets—but in his last years he started cutting back on desserts and eating more healthy. If you are trying to cut sugar out of your diet, finding or creating a sugarless dessert maybe a challenge. Oh sure, you can substitute sugar with Stevia or some other alternate sugar form, but to really take the sugar out of your diet may require a little more of a daring trial to the normal expectations.

Instead of pie, pudding, cheesecake, cake or cookies, consider fresh fruit, served with nuts or cheese. If you were going to spend ten or fifteen dollars on a cake or pie, just think how much fresh fruit that could buy. Fresh pineapple, mangos, strawberries, blueberries, or blackberries are always scrumptious. What are your family’s favorite fresh fruits? Serve those with mixed nuts and/or an assortment of cheeses alongside the fruit. Have you ever had a slice of fresh apple, like Honeycrisp, with a chunk of cheddar cheese? Yum! It is a combination I discovered with hot apple pie, which is not a part of my diet these days. Granulated sugar, that is used in making most desserts, is poison! Poison to our bodies and fuel for cancer proliferation. Research it for yourself and consider that as you plan your dessert this week, this month, and this year. On the other hand…sweets to the sweets. Life is too short not to enjoy some chocolate with that fruit and nuts!
