Meditate on
this throughout your day today:
For
the time has come for judgment, and it must begin with God's household. And if
judgment begins with us, what terrible fate awaits those who have never obeyed
God's Good News?
1 Peter 4:17
I’m studying
First Peter and as I read this verse I thought about how our salvation starts
when we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior and then it struck me that just as
spiritual birth starts at that instant, so does judgment. I was told years ago
that judgment will be for those who don’t believe, but this verse tells us that
judgment will include God’s family—the believers. The time has come. It is here
now. We are judged for our thoughts, words and actions, today. We don’t have to wait
until we die…or until the end of the world. The time has come. It is here now.

Think about
the things you are thankful for today. God has surely blessed you—if you have a
computer and are reading this, then you have electricity. If you have
electricity, you probably have running water and food to eat. You are blessed.
Google world hunger and deaths to
discover that a person dies every second due to hunger. World Vision is an
organization that supports people around the world dealing with malnutrition
and starvation. Just having clean water, that we take for granted, is a luxury.
More than 800 children die every day from drinking contaminated water. https://www.worldvision.com.au/global-water-crisis-facts
Pray that God
will provide daily bread, clean water, and spiritual guidance for people around the world and do what you can to support those in need.
Be thankful for what God has provided for you. Does He love those in need any
less? How will your actions be seen as you face judgment?
Prayer ~ Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept
holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in
heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have
forgiven those who sin against us. And don't let us yield to temptation, but
rescue us from the evil one. If you forgive those who sin against you, your
heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your
Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:9-15
