July 8 – Beyond Question…God is God.

Daniel 2:46 – 49

When Daniel finished, King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face in awe before Daniel. He ordered the offering of sacrifices and burning of incense in Daniel's honor. He said to Daniel, "Your God is beyond question the God of all gods, the Master of all kings. And he solves all mysteries, I know, because you've solved this mystery." Then the king promoted Daniel to a high position in the kingdom, lavished him with gifts, and made him governor over the entire province of Babylon and the chief in charge of all the Babylonian wise men. At Daniel's request the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to administrative posts throughout Babylon, while Daniel governed from the royal headquarters.

There is no doubt in your mind. When have you been that sure of something? When summoned for jury duty I’ve sat through the jury selection process a couple of times and the judge and lawyers always stress that the defendant is innocent until proven guilty and if found guilty it must be beyond question, beyond the shadow of a doubt.

So King Nebuchadnezzar was convinced that Daniel’s God is the true God, the God of all gods and that He solves all mysteries. As a result of Daniel’s obedience to God and his honesty, integrity, respect for others, the other wise men in Babylon were not executed and God blessed him. Daniel’s God is my God. One of my favorite songs, “Awesome God” written by Michael W. Smith, extols His greatness. This is the refrain:

Our God is an awesome God
He reigns from heaven above
With wisdom power and love
our God is an awesome God.

Nehemiah 9:32 says: “Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness, do not let all the hardship seem insignificant before You, which has come upon us, our kings, our princes, our priests, our prophets, our fathers and on all Your people, From the days of the kings of Assyria to this day.”

Are you convinced that Daniel’s God is your God? Is He the true God, the one who can solve mysteries? Are you convinced that you can do anything with God’s help? Can you find a scripture that says that?

Lord, help me to put more of my trust in You every day for You are an awesome God.
