Can You Commit Everything?

Meditate on God’s Word today.

Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don't worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper—it only leads to harm. For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the LORD will possess the land. ... The wicked plot against the godly; they snarl at them in defiance. But the Lord just laughs, for he sees their day of judgment coming. Psalm 37:5-9, 12-13

Twenty years ago today Lisa and Kim were married. It was a glorious day! They had met exactly one year before—and are truly soul mates. Not everyone finds someone that complements them so perfectly. May God continue to bless them and their wonderful family!

Can you commit everything you do to the LORD? It may seem like an easy thing to do…but that may just be lip service. I read some really good advice several years ago…before I get out of bed in the morning I ask the Lord what is it that He wants me to do…not putting my “Do List” before the Lord and just asking Him to bless what I want to do today. I’ve tried this—seriously tried—many times and it is surprising that He does give me opportunities to serve Him. Sometimes I miss those opportunities and look back later in the day or week…and see where I could have helped someone. That’s life. Here’s one of my favorite passages in the Bible. It sums up what to do.

Think about the lovely....

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:6-9

That’s my hope for everyone…God’s peace will be with you. When you believe in God’s Son, Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you have His pure and perfect peace, forever. A Day of Judgment is coming. Will you be ready? If you believe in Jesus—you are ready.

Prayer ~ Lord God, may all who read this call on Your name…and believe in Jesus as their Savior. Jesus was born, died on the cross, was resurrected and is coming again. That is the Good News. May all who hear this Good News share that knowledge with others…around the world.

Verse of Salvation ~ This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God's wonderful grace. Colossians 1:6
